Grizz places the viewer face-to-face with one of Canada’s most powerful and iconic animals.

Emerging from deep blue-green water, the grizzly looks directly at the viewer with a steady, intelligent gaze. Water streams from its mouth and chin while richly textured fur frames its enormous face.

Warm browns and golden earth tones are balanced by cool teal water, soft grey and unexpected flashes of violet-blue. The result is a commanding wildlife portrait that feels calm, confident and full of personality.

The story behind Grizz

Grizzly bears are often presented through their size and physical strength. With Grizz, Graham wanted to explore something quieter: the intelligence and self-possession visible in the bear’s expression.

The close composition removes the distance between the animal and the viewer. The bear fills the canvas, creating the feeling of a rare encounter at water level.

Loose white strokes capture water falling from the bear’s mouth, bringing movement into the painting. The deep teal water contrasts with the warmth of the fur, while the violet-blue nose adds Graham’s distinctive touch of expressive colour.

The bear’s direct gaze holds the composition together. It feels observant rather than threatening—a wild animal fully aware of its strength and surroundings.

Tracked shipping is available to the United States. Shipping charges are calculated using the delivery address entered at checkout.

Vancouver pickup

Complimentary pickup may be arranged from Graham’s Vancouver studio by appointment.

Vancouver and Whistler delivery

Timing

Grizz will normally be prepared for dispatch within five business days. Most orders arrive within approximately 12–15 business days of purchase, depending on the destination and carrier.
